Pressed Floral FAQs

When does the flower pressing take place?

The sooner you can get your flowers to us the better. We totally understand that wedding days are extremely busy, so take your time to breathe. Getting flowers to us within 24 hours is preferred, 48 at the latest.
Important: keep your arrangements in water and/or in the fridge whenever possible to give them life until you can get them to us - depending on the condition when received, it is possible that we will not be able to press. Ensure someone is on “flower duty” during your event so that your flowers have the best head start possible for pressing!

How long does it take?

Turn around time is roughly 3-4 months, but can take up to six.  This is to ensure that flowers and foliage are *completely* dried and that the final product is perfect for you.  The most important thing when it comes to preserving flowers is to make sure that all of the moisture is removed.  It takes  lots of time and attention, but it is well worth the wait!  We will contact you when it is all finished. Completed piece(s) can be delivered/shipped for an additional fee.

Will all of my flowers be pressed?

Not all flowers will be pressed and not all that are pressed will be used.  We choose the best quality and best condition flowers to ensure the integrity of the final product, both before and after the pressing process.  Since flowers are an organic medium, we can not guarantee the final product.  This is part of our artistic personality in hopes to create the best product for you.  If you have any personal design requests please specify, otherwise the artist will create what they believe looks best.

How do you press the flowers?

We use multiple mediums of flower presses and have developed our own technique.  Our method is ONLY naturally pressed, we do not freeze dry or preserve with chemicals.  We also do not use resin... but maybe one day!

Does the color fade over time?

Yep. Color remaining perfectly is just not guaranteed.  Flowers don't maintain their fresh color after going through a process of pressing all moisture out of them.  The thicker the flower, the more moisture that it holds, therefore the greater chance of losing color.  Typically, more pigmented flowers risk losing more of their color.  Flowers will continue to fade for their entire lifetime.  If you take care of your frame additional fading can be minimized.  The more your frame is exposed to sunlight, the greater chance/speed of fading.  When you get your frame it WILL fade more than what you see.  The change in color is organically expected and works well aesthetically and the colors stay true to nature - we personally love how this reflects the passage of time.

How are they priced?

Pricing includes over 30 hours of careful attention to preserve your florals. We give so much care and attention to each individual flower to ensure that your florals are beautifully preserved. Because of that, we only accept a handful of commissions per month, so we do require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time you place your order. If we do not receive the deposit, we cannot pick up/accept your arrangement. Work begins immediately once we have the blooms in our possession to ensure that your blooms are optimally prepared for pressing. The final balance is due upon completion of the design, prior to receiving your preserved floral artwork.

Pricing can be found here

Price includes consultation, standard frame (color of your choice: black, walnut, white), choice of glass or mat backing, and floral preservation artwork design.

We can accommodate some special sizing or style requests, but pricing will vary.

Can you press flowers that are already dry?

Unfortunately, once flowers have dried they can’t be reshaped. However, we can accommodate recreating floral pieces! Send us a picture of your bouquet, arrangement, etc. and we will source, dry, and create your custom artwork.

Where are you located?

We are located in Alpharetta, GA and are more than happy to meet for pick up if you are local. If you are out of town, flowers can be overnighted (with care)!
